When Should You See a Genetic Counselor in Gynecology?
There are several situations in gynecology where consulting a genetic counselor is beneficial:
Family history of genetic disorders or hereditary cancers, such as BRCA mutations. Personal or family history of congenital anomalies or birth defects. Recurrent miscarriages or infertility issues. Prenatal screening results indicating a higher risk of genetic conditions. Advanced maternal age, typically 35 years or older.
