Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, causing pain and other symptoms. Medications used to manage endometriosis include nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for pain relief, hormonal therapies such as oral contraceptives, progestins, and gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists to reduce or eliminate menstrual flow and shrink endometrial tissue.
