Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus grows outside of it, causing pain and sometimes infertility. Symptoms include severe menstrual cramps, chronic pelvic pain, pain during intercourse, and heavy menstrual bleeding. While there is no cure, treatments like medication or surgery can help manage symptoms.
