Diagnosing DIE often begins with a detailed medical history and physical examination. Imaging techniques such as transvaginal ultrasound and MRI are commonly used to identify the presence and extent of deep infiltrating lesions. In some cases, a diagnostic laparoscopy may be necessary to confirm the diagnosis and to assess the involvement of various organs.
