Many women experience premenstrual syndrome (PMS), which includes symptoms such as mood swings, bloating, and cramps. Magnesium has been shown to help alleviate some of these symptoms. It can reduce menstrual cramps by relaxing the uterine muscles and may also reduce water retention and bloating.
