Catechins, especially EGCG, have shown promise in the treatment of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infections. Topical formulations containing catechins have been approved for the treatment of external genital and perianal warts caused by HPV. They work by inhibiting viral replication and promoting the immune response to clear the infection.
