UNFPA implements several programs targeting gynecological health:
- Family Planning: Providing access to contraceptives and family planning counseling. - Maternal Health: Ensuring safe pregnancies and deliveries by training midwives and improving health facilities. - Obstetric Fistula Prevention and Treatment: Addressing obstetric fistula, a severe childbirth injury, through prevention, surgery, and rehabilitation programs. - Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health: Educating adolescents about reproductive health to prevent early pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
