What Are the Advantages and Limitations of Gynecological Imaging?

Each imaging modality has its own set of advantages and limitations. Ultrasound is widely available, non-invasive, and does not use ionizing radiation, but it may be limited in visualizing deep structures. MRI provides excellent soft tissue contrast but is more expensive and less accessible. CT scans are fast and provide detailed images but involve exposure to ionizing radiation. X-rays are useful for specific diagnostic purposes but have a limited role in gynecology.
