Precancerous cells, also known as dysplastic cells, are abnormal cells that have the potential to become cancerous. They are usually found through routine screening tests like the Pap smear test or an HPV test. These cells are not yet cancerous but indicate an increased risk of developing into cancer if not monitored or treated.
