Ovarian Stimulation: Hormonal medications are administered to stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs. Monitoring: Regular ultrasounds and blood tests are conducted to monitor the growth and development of the ovarian follicles. Trigger Shot: Once the follicles are mature, a trigger shot of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is given to induce final maturation of the eggs. Egg Retrieval: Approximately 36 hours after the trigger shot, the eggs are retrieved using a transvaginal ultrasound-guided needle aspiration.
