How does endometriosis lead to painful bowel movements?
Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus grows outside it, often affecting the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and the tissue lining the pelvis. When endometrial tissue involves the bowel, it can lead to inflammation, scarring, and pain during bowel movements. Women with bowel endometriosis may also experience symptoms like bloating, diarrhea, or constipation.
