A pelvic ultrasound is performed for various reasons, including but not limited to:
- Investigating abnormal pelvic pain or bleeding - Evaluating the size and shape of the uterus and ovaries - Detecting ovarian cysts, fibroids, or other masses - Monitoring pregnancies and fetal development - Diagnosing causes of infertility - Guiding certain gynecological procedures
