HPV test kits are recommended for women over 30 as part of routine screening. Younger women are usually not tested unless they have abnormal Pap smear results because HPV infections in younger women often resolve on their own. Women with risk factors such as a weakened immune system or a history of cervical dysplasia may also benefit from HPV testing.
