When is Conization Recommended?
Conization is recommended in cases where abnormal cells are detected during a
Pap smear
or
colposcopy
. It is particularly indicated for high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN 2 or CIN 3), which are precancerous changes in the cervix.
