Trisomy 13, also known as Patau Syndrome, is a chromosomal disorder caused by the presence of an extra copy of chromosome 13. This condition results in severe intellectual disability and physical abnormalities in many parts of the body. It occurs in approximately 1 in 16,000 live births.
