What is the Connection Between Neuroangiogenesis and Endometriosis?
In endometriosis, endometrial-like tissue grows outside the uterus, causing pain and infertility. Aberrant neuroangiogenesis is a hallmark of endometriosis, contributing to the formation and maintenance of ectopic lesions. The new nerve fibers and blood vessels in these lesions lead to chronic pain and inflammation. Targeting neuroangiogenesis may offer new therapeutic approaches for endometriosis management.
