Salpingo-oophorectomy is a surgical procedure involving the removal of the fallopian tubes (salpingectomy) and the ovaries (oophorectomy). This operation can either be unilateral (removal of one ovary and one fallopian tube) or bilateral (removal of both ovaries and both fallopian tubes).
