The results of a Pap smear can be normal, unclear, or abnormal: - Normal: No abnormal cells are detected. - Unclear: Cells may appear abnormal, but it is not certain if they are precancerous. Further testing may be needed. - Abnormal: Cells show changes that could be precancerous. Additional testing, such as a colposcopy or a biopsy, may be recommended.
