One of the most prevalent barriers in gynecology is gender bias. Although the field is dominated by female practitioners, leadership roles often remain disproportionately filled by men. This disparity can limit opportunities for women to advance to higher positions such as department heads or academic leaders. Another significant barrier is the lack of mentorship. Mentorship is crucial for career development, offering guidance and opportunities for networking. Unfortunately, many young gynecologists find it difficult to access mentors who can provide them with the support needed to advance their careers.
