What are the Complications of Untreated Thrombosis?
If left untreated, thrombosis can lead to serious complications:
Pulmonary Embolism: As previously mentioned, a clot can travel to the lungs, causing life-threatening complications. Post-Thrombotic Syndrome: This can result in chronic pain, swelling, and skin changes in the affected limb. Recurrent Thrombosis: Women who have had one thrombotic event are at increased risk of future clots.
