imaging limitations

What are the challenges in imaging for endometriosis?

Endometriosis often presents as small lesions or adhesions that can be difficult to detect with standard imaging techniques. MRI is more sensitive than ultrasound for identifying deep infiltrating endometriosis, but even MRI may miss small or superficial lesions. Laparoscopy is often required for definitive diagnosis.
