Nabothian cysts, also known as mucinous retention cysts, are benign formations that occur on the cervix. These cysts are filled with mucus and are typically small, ranging from a few millimeters to 4 centimeters in diameter. They form when the mucus-producing glands of the cervix, known as Nabothian glands, become obstructed.
