Female condoms, also known as internal condoms, are barrier contraceptives designed to prevent pregnancy and reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). They are made of soft, thin plastic called polyurethane or nitrile and are worn inside the vagina during sexual intercourse.
