Mifepristone is typically used in combination with another medication called misoprostol. The standard regimen involves taking mifepristone orally, followed by misoprostol after 24 to 48 hours. Misoprostol induces contractions of the uterus to expel the pregnancy tissue. This combination is effective up to 70 days (10 weeks) from the first day of the last menstrual period.
