elagolix

How Does Elagolix Work?

Elagolix works by binding to GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland, which leads to a decrease in the secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). This reduction in LH and FSH levels subsequently lowers estrogen production by the ovaries. The lower estrogen levels result in a decrease in the growth of endometrial tissue and fibroids, helping to manage symptoms such as pelvic pain and heavy menstrual bleeding.
